Everything you need to know on how to watch the NFL game between Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers, as well as kick-off time and team news.
The Bears find themselves at the bottom of the NFC North with a 2-7 record, having faced back-to-back defeats, including a 24-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints last time out.
Their only two victories this season came on the road against the Washington Commanders and at home against the Las Vegas Raiders, but they will believe the home field advantage could be the slight edge here as they look to get over the hump.
Similarly, the Panthers are positioned at the foot of the NFC South with a 1-7 record, and come into this encounter off the back of their recent 27-13 loss against the Indianapolis Colts this past Sunday.

Both teams are looking to get back on track in primetime this week. After facing back-to-back defeats, the Bears find themselves at the bottom of the NFC North with a 2-7 record. Similarly, the Panthers sit at the foot of the NFC South with a 1-7 record, and enter this game off the back of a 27-13 loss against the Indianapolis Colts last weekend.
Looking at how the league standings are shaping up, neither team should want to win this game. The Panthers come into Thursday night with the second-worst record in the league, sitting just a half-game ahead of the Arizona Cardinals, while the Bears are a half-game in front of Carolina.
After losing a close one to the New Orleans Saints this past Sunday, Chicago has lost three of their last four games, scoring less than 20 points in each defeat. With Tyson Bagent at quarterback, there have been moments of optimism, but overall the backup to Justin Fields has not been able to step up. In the 24-17 loss to the Saints, the former DII quarterback threw three interceptions, and has been picked off five times in the last two games.
This season has not been great for the Panthers, by any stretch. While they did snap their losing skid two weeks ago, Carolina was put back in its place by the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9. Their No. 1 pick, Bryce Young, only threw for 173 yards and three picks in a 27-13 loss. He received no help from the defense, which gave up 20 points in the second quarter.
Bears quarterback Justin Fields could make a return after missing the last three weeks due to dislocating his right thumb. He returned to practice on Friday last week but wasn't deemed fit enough to start in their 24-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
As for the Panthers, they were comfortably beaten by the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9 after picking up their first victory of the season in Week 8 against the Texans.
The Bears' starting quarterback Justin Fields, who hasn’t played since Week 6, was limited in Monday's walk-through and is listed as day-to-day. The visitors may not want to rush Fields back on a short week, especially considering they are likely to fall out of playoff contention anyways.
Tyson Bagent will start if Fields is still out, albeit he has struggled since starring on his debut against the Raiders. Running back Khalil Herbert is still out, leaving D'Onta Foreman to be the lead back. Leading tackler linebacker Termaine Edmunds is also a major doubt for this Thursday night clash with the Panthers.
The Panthers arguably have the deepest list of players on the injured reserve (12) in the NFL and will likely be missing their best player, All-Pro pass rusher Brian Burns, with a concussion. It's been a relatively rough season for the No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young, especially last week when he struggled while the No. 2 overall pick, CJ Stroud, excelled for the Texans. He now has an opportunity to make a comeback on Thursday's prime time clash.
The Chicago Bears will host the Carolina Panthers on Thursday to kick off Week 10. While this isn't a potential playoff preview, it's a very intriguing game in the big picture.
Carolina traded its 2024 first-round draft pick to Chicago as part of its package to move up and draft Bryce Young No. 1 overall. The Bears could be looking to draft their own quarterback next year, depending on how things unfold with Justin Fields.
If the season ended today, Chicago would own the second and third picks in next year's draft. Win or lose, the Bears stand to improve the position of one of their 2024 first-round selections.
D.J. Moore will be facing the Panthers for the first time since he was traded to Chicago for the first pick in the 2023 Draft back in March. He’s currently the Bears’ top receiver on a team that’s consistently plagued with passing game issues.
The Bears will be without a few key players tonight; backup QB Tyson Bagent will likely make another start in place of Justin Fields, whose dislocated thumb may keep him out for the fourth week in a row. Two more starters, Nate Davis and Tremaine Edmunds, have been ruled out tonight, but a few players who were listed as questionable going into tonight practiced and may play tonight.
